Shades of blue

www.jadore-fashion.com
My weekend was spent getting some rest and finishing up my school work for the week. After a sleepless week, on Saturday, I slept most of the day before heading out to dinner with my husband. After dinner, I decided to get a manicure, pedicure and my eyebrows done. I went in with full eyebrows but I came out with barely none--thanks to lady at the nail salon...smh! At least I have MAC espresso matte and bangs as cover up LOL!

On Sunday, I was able to make one of my favorite soup "Okra soup"- I haven't had it in a while. I ended up eating so much that night I could barely get up from my seat. I am a self proclaimed foodie, but the good thing is that I don't really eat a lot of junk food. :)

On another note, this is another busy week for me both at work and school, but the good thing is that I am looking forward to some fun time with my hubby & friends/coworkers in Vegas. I am a Vegas newbie, so I am so looking forward to some fun after work in the Sin City.

Next week is halloween...do you guys have your costumes ready? I have an idea what my costume will be, but you will just have to wait and see. :)

I did not even know it was October, let alone that it was October 1st, which is Nigerian Independence's day. Happy Belated 51st birthday to my lovely country, Nigerian! On that note, today’s outfit is made with an African fabric called Ankara.

Normally for weddings, the couples pick a fabric that they love and they have close friends wearing the fabric in different style for the wedding known as “Asoebi”. There were more than 20 bride's friends in this same fabric, but in different styles. During the reception, everyone wearing the above fabric accompanied the couple as they danced into the reception.

For me, I decided that I wanted to have a 70's appeal wearing bell bottoms. I sketched the style and had my tailor sew the outfit. Again, I wanted something to contrast the busy fabric, but still keeping the 70's style in mind, so I came up with the idea of making a bustier with a metallic fabric.  I paired the whole outfit with my Zara metallic pumps. This fall, I am all about metallic!

On another note, my exam went well. Thank you all for the wishes. Now, I have to pack for my mini trip to Atlanta for a conference. I will love to meet some readers and bloggers in ATL. Send me an email, maybe we can grab dinner and drinks on Friday after my conference.

Stylishly yours...

Outfit: Zara pants, clutch, shoes; Nastygal cardigan; Michael Kors watch; earrings by Guinevere from Nordstrom

When I was putting this outfit together, I was thinking of a casual work Friday; this leads to happy hour and dinner with co-workers and friends. Colored pants are here to stay. We will be seeing lots of colored pants this fall. Instead of pairing these pants with bright colored blouses, pair them with warm and subtle fall colors like burgundy or navy.

Outfit: Zara pants, bag, blazer & shoes; YSL ring, Michael Kors watch; Hermes belt;
... a great outfit for Fashion Night Out with girlfriends. Animal print is must-have for fall, but it doesn't mean you have to be covered in animal print from head-to-toe. Adding a black tee to the  outfit gives it a more relaxed look. Also, a blazer and orange belt add color to the outfit without being too "summer" bright.

Outfit: Giuseppe-zanotti shoes, Chanel clutch, Asos romper, Bracelet--Kendra Scott from Nordstrom

For a date night, besides wanting to wear a cute short dress, you can also wear romper/playsuit. For example, the playsuit shown above has this sexy and classy appeal. For this outfit, the statement piece is the Giuseppe Zanotti wedge. Metallics are another trend to watch. They add an edge to an outfit without going overboard.

Have a wonderful Weekend!
